- understand the principles of building a trusting, respectful, and encouraging educational climate
- explain the connection between the online teacher presence and student motivation in language learning
- apply eight Activities to interact with students online and to practice connectiveness and purposefulness in using language
- define the TEC-VARIETY Framework to boost the chances for online learning success
- plan projects to engage learners (and their families/friends) into social cause
- explain the peculiarities of virtual BPL

Interview with our guest – Edina Kőműves

About Edina Kőműves
Edina Kőműves is a Hungarian teacher, specialized in French and History teaching. She also gives various courses in English in a talent care program and specializes in skill building and edutaining. After her teaching Master’s, she completed a research based Erasmus Mundus Master program at ELTE in Budapest, EHESS in Paris and Charles University in Prague. She is writing her PhD at ELTE university on history of education. She is the co-founder of a team developing game material that can be used in high schools to promote the development of 21th century skills.
In 2019, she participated in a Fulbright Teaching Excellence and Achievement Program, Media Literacy track (Kent State University, OH, USA), and obtained a federal grant that allowed her to execute a year-long media literacy program, alongside with writing a gamified teaching resource book that promotes media literacy education. She is the proud mom of 2 little girls.

In this module, we discuss the importance of engaging students in learning languages online and share some ideas how it can be implemented. How do you develop a communicative environment that is open and welcoming for your learners? Please, share your successes and obstacles and suggest ways to overcome the latter.
